On May 24, 2019, I had the honor of being invited to perform for the Real Vancouver Writers’ Series. I was part of a lineup of six writers from Vancouver and Toronto.
I was invited as an emerging writer, to share work from my debut novel, Saltwater Spirits. My official launch party was two weeks away so this event was the first time I performed live from my first book. It was a full house and the lively audience helped bolster my confidence while I shared my writing in front of strangers.
Thank you, Dina and Sean, for the invitation to read and for being such gracious and encouraging hosts. The event will always be in my memory as my very first reading series.
